L’Oreal Says It Didn’t Lighten Beyonce’s Skin On Ad

Jan Westmark – Celebrity News Service

New York, NY (CNS) – Singer Beyonce, who has light black skin, suddenly appears to be even lighter in a new L’Oreal ad.

Even though Beyonce’s skin and hair look lighter than normal in the ad, the cosmetics company has denied that it lightened her skin tone for the ad. She has been appearing in ads for the cosmetics giant since she became the face of L’Oreal in 2001.

“We highly value our relationship with Ms. Knowles. It is categorically untrue that L’Oreal Paris altered Ms. Knowles’ features or skin tone in the campaign for Feria hair color,” the Paris-based company said in a statement to the Associated Press.

Celebrity News Service checked out several photos of Beyonce, as well as the ad, and it appears as though the lighting used by the photographer is the real issue. And the fact that her hair is a much lighter shade, which tends to make the skin look even lighter.

A survey of Beyonce fans showed that most believed the cosmetics company hadn’t touched up the photo, and that it was, in fact, the lighting.

One person, however, believed that Beyonce was responsible for her lighter skin, and not L’Oreal. “I think she is using ‘Palmer’s Fading Cream’ because it helps African American’s lighten their skin,” they said.

Now if it was Michael Jackson they were talking about we might believe it, otherwise we are going to stick with L’Oreal and Beyonce’s fans and say the ad was not doctored.

DH thinks…”suuuure it was the light. I’ve heard THAT one before! All jokes aside, I think it was the light and I think it’s gotten both Beyonce and L’Oreal the attention they were seeking. Publicity whores… lmao :)
